Reliable medical information within easy reach

The Central Medical Library is the largest specialized medical library in Bulgaria. It provides access to a collection of over 300,000 volumes of Bulgarian and foreign printed books, textbooks, journals, dissertations, and other materials, as well as access to thousands of electronic resources in the fields of Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Care, and Public Health.

• Publishing the scientific journals of the Medical University – Sofia:

  Bulgarian Medical Journal (Български медицински журнал)
  Medical Review (Медицински преглед)
  General Medicine (Обща медицина)
  Information for Nursing Staff (Сестринско дело)
  These journals are well known to several generations of Bulgarian medical professionals. They are multidisciplinary or highly specialized, scientific, peer-reviewed, and published in open access. They are indexed in a number of international databases, including Scopus, CABI – Global Health database, EMBASE, EBSCO, and others.
• As part of its publishing activities, the library also offers preprint services, including language editing, formatting, and graphic design for medical books such as monographs, textbooks, dissertations, as well as journals of other publishers.
